  8. Valentine’s rant

All personal views… not meant to offend anyone or take away from the “Valentine’s Day” experience…

    Some things I noticed yesterday…

    Singles Awareness Day = SAD

    Valentine’s Day = VD

Personally, I’d rather be SAD then have VD. lol

Also I think people really do put too much emphasis on Valentine’s Day & making things perfect on that day/night. If you love someone, you should show em every day.. not just on a “consumer holiday”. $50+ for a dozen roses??? & $30+ for a dozen chocolate covered strawberries??? Really?? That’s double to triple the normal price.

Just walking into the stores near the VD sections over the past few days, you can’t help but noticed how rude & pissy some people can be. The isles are demolished, & nothing is put back where it’s suppose to be. & that’s at all stores, not just the thrifty shops.

And while driving around town last night, SOO many couples were driving like crazy people… my guess due to being late to some reservation. I was almost hit 3+ times. Relax. It’s just one night. If you’re that frantic about showing that loved one you care that much on that one night, you must be trying to make up for something.

My suggestion, stay in on Valentine’s night. Make a nice meal like you should occasionally be doing any other night of the week. If you really want to go big, do it when & cause you want to show the person you love that you appreciate them.. not because society says this is the day to do it. + you’re better off celebrating “Valentine’s Day” any other night of the year. You wouldn’t have to worry about reservations for dinner or too long of a wait time. You could buy roses, chocolates, etc. at a normal price. & it’s less stressful. + you could pick out a card/gift in any section of the store.. not just the “Valentine’s Day” section. You may have to actually put some thought into it, but chances are, it’ll truly come from the heart.

Though I do hope everyone had a good Valentine’s Day & that you were able to spend it with loved ones… no matter what you ended up doing.
